BUG Ride Conditions

10-Feb-08
As discussed, at the 2008 Ballina BUG Annual General Meeting, is the decision by the members in relation to returning into Ballina along the Pacific Highway. As there have been occasions when riders have split up and then been abused by motorists, this decision has been agreed to by all members present at the AGM.

All rides that enter Ballina from the south will regroup just south of the Big Prawn. After all riders have rejoined, the group will then proceed  along the Pacific Highway and cross Fisheries Creek Bridge riding as a tight bunch to the end of the ride at Pelican 181. The front riders are to ensure that they maintain a speed that ensures the group stays together. This is to ensure the safety of all riders.

Rides around Ballina

28-Feb-06
On Saturday and Sunday there are organised rides from Hogan Street departing at 7.00 am.

Each Saturday and Sunday, weather permitting, there is an organised ride in the Ballina area departing at 7.00 am. One week the ride is classified as being Medium and suitable for those just starting to ride a little more than a few kilometres.

Alternate weekends are classified as being, most likely, Hard which means there is longer distance and hills involved. If you are riding a bit more, it is worth attempting the Hard rides. We all have started out and it was hard.

Riders are required to sign the Ride sheet before departing Hogan Street. We are all bound by the NSW Road Rules and we need to remember no more then two riders abreast. This is to keep a check on the number of riders and also their contact details if they have problems.

Riders will never be left behind as there is usually a "Mother Hen" to keep them encouraged and in sight.

Check the calender on this site for updates on rides.
